A Wild April 2026: Over 50 Vehicles Delivered to Ukrainian Forces in a Single Month

April 2026 was one of the most intense months for the Initiative E+ team since the start of the full-scale invasion. More than 50 vehicles — pickups, all-wheel-drive vans, Scania trucks, even a motorcycle — went to Ukrainian military units. Here are just a few episodes from this wild conveyor belt of a month.

The month began with a Danish convoy received beneath the Motherland Monument in Kyiv: 20 vehicles from longtime friends — Biler til Ukraine. Soldiers received the keys right there in the courtyard of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. No fanfare — hugs, jokes, a quick "let's go!" By tradition, the new Danish drivers added their signatures to a flag destined for a future museum of Danish-Ukrainian friendship.

Almost immediately came the Finnish leg: four all-wheel-drive vehicles from Karavanen till Ukraina.

Mid-month brought another Danish convoy of 6 vans. We thanked the donor-drivers with handmade bracelets in the colours of Ukraine and Denmark.

And on April 20, the Swedish wing of Karavanen till Ukraina delivered 11 vehicles in a single run — from a Scania truck to a motorcycle. Thousands of kilometres on the road, Swedish and Ukrainian drivers in one team, keys handed directly from one set of hands to another.

Behind the numbers is systematic work: sourcing the vehicle, technical inspection, paperwork, a route across multiple borders, drivers who take time off work to bring the car all the way from Scandinavia to Kyiv. The running tally since February 2022 has now passed 1,200 vehicles. And it will keep going — for as long as the Armed Forces of Ukraine need support.

Join our "Vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine" project — we have an ongoing fundraiser for the repair and refitting of vehicles before they head to the front line, where they need to perform as reliably as possible. Find out how to contribute on the SUPPORT page.

Thank you to everyone who stands with us. We're not stopping.
