In February, the team of Initiative E+ met a true energy caravan at the border — fast, informal, and filled with practical support. Our Finnish partners, Karavanen till Ukraina, organized the delivery of critical equipment within days to support people left without electricity and heating following attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The trip itself was short — just two days. But in terms of scale and impact, it became one of the most powerful deliveries of recent months.
Five vehicles arrived in Ukraine, fully loaded with:
This was an improvised response. Seeing the news about massive strikes on energy facilities, darkened cities, and widespread blackouts, our Finnish partners acted immediately. No lengthy approvals. No public campaigns. They raised funds, purchased the equipment, loaded the vehicles, and delivered the aid directly to Ukraine.
This is what real solidarity looks like — not asking “How can we help?” but writing instead:
“Can you meet the caravan on February 10?”.
The charging stations and heaters were distributed by Initiative E+ to residents of Kyiv and nearby communities who found themselves in the most vulnerable conditions during power and heating outages.
Due to the limited quantity of assistance, distribution was carried out according to clear priority criteria. Support was provided to:
The application form for assistance was open only briefly — all requests were submitted in less than one hour, once again highlighting the scale and urgency of the need.
Through this energy caravan, support reached approximately 120 households, benefiting an estimated 250–300 people.
For them, this was not just equipment. It was the ability to get through winter with warmth, a charged phone, light in their homes, and a sense of safety during the most difficult moments.
For Initiative E+, this caravan is another example of how international friendship turns into concrete action. For Karavanen till Ukraina, it is a continuation of consistent support for Ukraine at a time when speed and practicality matter as much as resources.
We are deeply grateful for the trust, responsiveness, and shared understanding of the reality in which a country under constant attack continues to live.
The energy caravan is light, warmth, and proof that together, we truly can do more.
