Initiative E+, in cooperation with Finnish partners Karavanen till Ukraina, delivered modern surgical microscopes to a hospital in frontline Zaporizhzhia.
The operating microscopes were transferred to the Department of Traumatology and the Department of ENT Microsurgery. These units work daily with severe and complex clinical cases and require maximum precision during surgical procedures.
Thanks to the new equipment, doctors are now able to perform complex microsurgical interventions, including:
These capabilities are especially important for a region where the hospital operates under increased pressure and treats a large number of patients with severe injuries.
According to Olha Bohdan, Head of the Traumatology Department, the arrival of surgical microscopes marks a significant step forward for the department:
“The new operating microscopes allow us to perform extremely precise, almost ‘jewellery-level’ surgeries and significantly expand the possibilities of surgical care.”
Deputy Director of the hospital Mykhailo Sushko emphasised the importance of this support:
“Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Hospital sincerely thanks the Initiative E+ and their Finnish partners for this important delivery of medical equipment. It will significantly improve the level of medical care provided at our hospital.”
The hospital staff also expressed their gratitude for the trust and support, and congratulated the partners on the upcoming New Year, wishing peace, development, and many new joint initiatives.
Medical facilities near the frontline operate under constant strain and face a high number of complex clinical cases. Every piece of modern equipment is an opportunity to save lives, reduce complications, and provide patients with dignified, high-quality treatment.
Strengthening surgical capabilities on site allows doctors to respond more quickly to emergency situations and provide effective care to those who need it most.
For Initiative E+, this delivery is part of ongoing work to strengthen Ukrainian hospitals under wartime conditions. Cooperation with Karavanen till Ukraina makes it possible to supply equipment that directly improves treatment quality and saves lives.
Finnish partners have repeatedly demonstrated that their support is not a one-time gesture, but a consistent and reliable commitment to Ukrainian medical professionals working in the most challenging circumstances.
Together, we strengthen Ukrainian healthcare.
Together, we save lives.
